What is “RECNA Dialogue Project”?

“Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces,
I would still plant my apple tree.”

This phrase has been invoked time and again throughout history—
in the context of the Reformation, peace and human rights protection.
We deeply respect the spirit of these words.
However, the “Dialogue” Project by the Research Center for Nuclear Weapons Abolition (RECNA) at Nagasaki University
has chosen to set an even more challenging goal.
We hope that as many people as possible will join us in planting the seeds of dialogue—apple trees
of connection—through this project,
so that the roots of lasting peace may grow strong and wide.
Because the true foundation of peace, and the power to prevent its destruction,
lies in the lively, ongoing conversations we nurture every day. Learn More
